About Us
Established in 1987, Dublin Bus is the main public transport company in Dublin.
It is a subsidiary of Córas Iompair Éireann which is owned by the Irish Government.
Dublin Bus carries over 500,000 passengers a day on its core services and also offers
Dublin Sightseeing tours on a daily basis.
The first sightseeing tour took place in 1988 and was called the Grand Dublin Tour.
It consisted of 1 bus that did a 3 hour tour around Dublin City and its surrounds.
The tour departed twice a day at 10.30am and 2.30pm. As popularity grew this has
transpired into a fleet of 23 open top buses, 4 coastal buses and 2 ghost buses.
The City Tour buses depart every 10 minutes on a loop around the city taking in
all the major attractions. While the Coastal tours operate daily along the northern
and southern coasts of Dublin Bay and the Ghostbus operates nightly with two tours
on weekends.
We also operate a pre recorded multilingual tour in the following languages; Irish,
English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, Japanese and Chinese
With the exception of the multilingual tour all our guides provide a live commentary,
are accredited by Failte Ireland and will show you the city and it's surrounds as
only a native can.
Our most popular tour is the hop on hop off tour. It stops at 23 of Dublin's major
attractions and is the best way to view all that Dublin City Centre has to offer.
